Our Hebrew or Hebraic Roots
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO RETURN TO OUR HEBREW OR THE HEBRAIC ROOTS OF OUR FAITH?
When we don’t have all the facts from which to make a qualified and informed decision, we get a skewed view of reality. When we examine truth from a realigned perspective and when information that has been withheld from us is revealed, our Ruach (Spirit) will instinctively perceive its validity and truth. Whether we like it or not, believe it or not, Messianic Judaism or Christianity has its roots in the Hebrew Scriptures and Jewish writings.
So many words in our English Translations of the Bible were translated according to tradition, denominational biases and doctrinal interpretations and not from the original literal meaning of the word. Hebrew is a very expressive language and the equivalent English words are often inefficient to convey the meanings in the original text and because of this we have lost so much in translation.
The scripture says:
‘For He is our peace, the One who has made both things into one and who has loosed the dividing wall of the fence, cause of the enmity to His flesh, by His nullifying the tradition of the commandments by decrees, so that He could create the two, Jewish and non-Jewish, into one new man, establishing peace. So He could reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, as God killed their enmity by means of Jesus/Yeshua and when He came He proclaimed the good news of peace to you, to those far away, and peace to those near; because through Him we both have the introduction to the Father by means of one spirit. Therefore then, you are no longer aliens and strangers, but you are fellow citizens of the saints and members of the household of God, building upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Messiah Yeshua being His cornerstone in whom the whole building being constructed is being fit together into a holy sanctuary in the Lord, and in whom you are built together into a habitation of God by the spirit.’ Ephesians 2:15 14–22
When we approach YHVH'S Word as if it's any other book, rather than reading it with the understanding that it is living, breathing sharper than any two edge sword, we have the tendency to skip over certain words and certain parts when reading the scriptures. This is really just an act of disciplining our impatient flesh, also calling on our Divine Rabbi Messiah Yeshua to give us eyes to see, ears to hear and open heart to be willing to follow His truth NO MATTER WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES ARE OR WHERE THE EMET (TRUTH) MAY LEAD US.
Without the Word of YHVH we would be lost with no hope, so we need to get into a good habit of reading the actual words of Elohim (God), while digging into their meanings and the context in which they were written.
Matthew 13:44-47 44 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid. And because of his joy, he goes out and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. 46 Upon finding a pearl of great value, he went out and sold all that he had and bought it. Matthew 13:44-47
If you don’t have time for reading His words then its entirely possible that your’e too busy and you need to make time, because there is only one EMET (Truth) in this world and few there be that find it. this is not because the EMET or TRUTH is not able to be found, but rather "His people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge" because they choose to spend times on the empty things of this world, rather than searching His Word and being led by Rabbi Messiah Yeshua, through His Ruach HaKodesh (Set Apart Spirit).
The passage written by Paul in Epesians that we just read, was written to former Goyim (Gentiles or Multitude of Nations) and tells us that all are to worship the living Elohim (God) of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob the King of the universe, the Elohim who became flesh and walked among us. It is high time that we facilitate the changes in our mindsets, as well as the mindsets of our New Covenant brothers and sisters, who have fallen prey to the infiltration of the Babylonian Roman Catholic doctrines, in which have slowly crept in and corrupted the majority of seminary schools and congregations in westernized Christianity. YHVH is awakening a generation of believer's, who are willing to teach and preach His EMET (TRUTH), so they can awaken the New Covenant Congregation to its Hebraic/Jewish roots, finally recognizing that Yeshua/Jesus was born a Hebrew, an Israelite from the tribe of Yahudah (Judah) and is a direct descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He grew up in a Jewish/Hebraic society with Hebrew Jewish traditions and lifestyles which were established thousands of years ago through Abraham and Moses’s teachings and He is the same today as He was then. (Hebrews 13:8.) We must also understand why Abraham is the first person in the Bible to be called a Hebrew and what it means for us today.
- "Hebrew" is used in the Bible is in Gen 14:13. Just as Abraham is first called a "Hebrew" in Gen 14:13
- A "Hebrew" would be one "who crossed over", just as their forefather Abraham Crossedover the Euphrates to follow YHVH and just as the Israelite's crossed-over the Red Sea to follow YHVH out of Egypt. There is also a deeper meaning of what it means to become a Hebrew, which is the fact that just as Abraham crossed-over from from Ur or Babylon and the gods of this world, so he could follow YHVH the true Elohim (God) of this world and just as the Israelite's crossed-over the Red Sea leaving the gods of Egypt to follow the True Elohim (God) of this universe, we too must become Hebrews like our ancestors, leaving the the gods of this world and follow YHVH our Elohim becoming Hebrew Israelite's, so we too can again be grafted into the olive tree.
- The likely fact that the word Hebrew means "sojourner" underscores the importance of the land promise. Further, while possessing the land, they would always be reminded by the root meaning of their name, "Hebrew" that the land was a gift given to their forefathers who, for 500 years, were literally "Hebrews" in the "alien" sense of the word. This means that calling Palestine "the land of the Hebrews" in Gen 40:15 was a deliberate paradox, for sojourners don't have a land! Our ultimate goal is not to be set on the fleshly things of this world, but rather becoming "A New Man" and fellow citizens of the Common Wealth of Israel and members of the household of YHVH our Elohim.
Now is the time to rectify that situation.
As believers we are all to join together in understanding that the whole word of YHVH, from Genesis to Revelation pertains to us as believer's, while also understanding who Messiah Yeshua was, is and why He gave up His life and rose again are paramount to a comprehensive understanding of YHVH'S overall plan since creation of dwelling on earth with His people, where they would be as Echad (One in unity) (See John 17:20-24 for Yeshua’s prayer for unity) So that He could create the two, Jewish and non-Jewish, into one new man, establishing peace – One New Man. This is not a new concept but has rather been skipped over and lost in time.
If we truly love him as we profess, then we should have a burning desire to know everything about Him and every detail about who He really is.
“And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” Luke 24:32
So… how much do ‘you’ love him
Simply try not to harden your heart or close your mind and trust that the God of Adonai (Lord) Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), the Father of glory may give unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know what is the hope of His calling and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and you will have Ephesians 1:17–23 operating in your life in all its fullness.
